About Go Light Our World

Go Light Our World, or GLOW, grew from a family’s love for Elaina Quinn Mammen and the desire to keep her light moving through the world.

Elaina died at age 19. The GLOW website remembers her contagious smile, generous heart, love for family and friends, and habit of noticing when someone needed care. Her mother and aunt created GLOW to honor that spirit, remember lives affected by gun violence, and help young people and grieving families find hope, encouragement, and trustworthy places to begin.

A light carried forward

GLOW’s work is rooted in a simple belief: compassion can keep moving, even after a devastating loss. Sometimes that looks like sharing a reliable resource. Sometimes it is a meal, a prayer, a conversation, a community gathering, or a project that gives people a place to remember and breathe.

Love Like Elaina is the clearest expression of that belief. It encourages everyday acts of kindness that meet people where they are and invite them to carry kindness forward.

What GLOW does

  1. Kindness and remembrance: honoring Elaina and others affected by gun violence through compassionate stories and acts of care.
  2. Resource sharing: connecting visitors with trustworthy crisis, grief, mental wellness, and treatment-finder resources.
  3. Community projects: creating and supporting opportunities for reflection, connection, encouragement, and practical help.
  4. Hopeful action: inviting people to volunteer, give, share responsibly, pray, and support one another.

GLOW is not an emergency service, therapy practice, or medical provider. We do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. We help visitors find reliable information and encourage them to reach qualified professionals when care is needed.

Faith, welcome, and respect

Faith and prayer are meaningful parts of comfort and healing for many people connected with GLOW. At the same time, the invitation to kindness, dignity, and hope is open to everyone. GLOW aims to welcome people across backgrounds and beliefs without judgment.

Our mission

GLOW’s mission is to honor Elaina’s light by encouraging kindness, supporting youth mental wellness awareness, sharing grief and crisis resources, remembering lives affected by gun violence, and bringing people together through hopeful community action.

We work toward that mission by:

  • making it easier to find trustworthy help;
  • encouraging honest conversations about mental wellness and grief;
  • supporting healthy boundaries and help-seeking;
  • creating room for remembrance, faith, and reflection;
  • offering practical ways to serve and care for others; and
  • treating every person’s story with compassion and dignity.
